NEVC Announces Athlete of the Week Honorees (Week Ending 3/1)
Leominster, Mass. - The New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending 3/1/26. The full list of honorees can be found below.
Athlete of the Week
Pearse Esposito (So., S), Bard
In a 3-0 week for the Raptors, Esposito averaged 4.68 assists per set, 2.38 digs per set, 1.54 kills per set on .234 hitting, 0.46 aces per set and 0.46 blocks per set. His best performance came against Elms, where he recorded his second career triple-double, with 10 kills, 21 assists, and 11 digs. Against Curry, he had a 26-assist, 14-dig double-double plus six kills and four aces. Finally, versus Gallaudet, he had 14 assists, extending his double-digit assist streak to 21 matches, dating back to last season.
Rookie of the Week
Nyko Whitaker (Fr., S), Curry
Whitaker collected 119 set assists, 13 kills, 22 digs, 6 blocks across three matches this week, all of which went five sets. He also had two set assists in a very brief (less than a full set) appearance in the fourth match of the week.

The NEVC is a NCAA Division III single-sport conference sponsoring the sport of men’s volleyball. The conference is comprised of seven institutions, Bard College, Endicott College, Nichols College, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Potsdam, Russell Sage College and Vermont State University – Johnson.
