NEVC Announces Athlete of the Week Honorees (Week Ending 1/26)
Smithfield, R.I.- The New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending 1/26/25. The full list of honorees can be found below.
Athlete of the Week
Peter Gottler (Jr., OH), SUNY Poly
Junior Peter Gottler (Buffalo, N.Y.) hit .473 on the week, totaling 25 kills with only 4 errors. Gottler also contributed 3 service aces and 10 digs as SUNY Poly went 1-1 on the week.
Rookie of the Week
Ansel Waisler (Fr., OH), Bard
Freshman Ansel Waisler (Venice, Calif.) had double-digit kill totals in three of five matches for Bard. Against St. Elizabeth, he had 13 (4.33 kills per set), versus Brooklyn, he had 18 (6 kills per set) while hitting .300, and in the tri-match finale, he compiled 20 kills (5 kills per set) and a .260 hitting percentage. He also had 0.50 aces per set during the week. Defensively, he averaged 1.75 digs per set and 0.25 blocks per set.

The NEVC is a NCAA Division III single-sport conference sponsoring the sport of men’s volleyball. The conference is comprised of seven institutions, Bard College, Endicott College, Nichols College, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Potsdam, Russell Sage College and Vermont State University – Johnson.
